Accordingly, it was decided to reorient our approach to supporting needy families and our activities and following decisions were taken :
(1) To focus on quality of services rendered to beneficiaries in contrast to supporting large number of beneficiaries.
(2) To avoid wastage of unutilised or under-utilised precious capital resources like buildings, equipment etc. and relocate existing schools in different campuses. Accordingly our flag institution Harisunder Balika Higher Secondary School was shifted to under-utilised Asha Ganj campus and Kasturba Narishalla Primary School, which was being run in second shift in Sarvanand Vidya Mandir building, was shifted to Nawab ka Bera building in morning shift.
(3) Computerisation was introduced in working of Mayani Hospital, all schools and Sudhar Sabha for achieving efficiency and saving of time.
(4) Science stream was reintroduced in Higher Secondary School. It has been decided to upgrade Swami Sarvanand Vidya Mandir to secondary level and take steps for humanising and broadening of outlook of students.
(5) It has been decided, in consultation with Trusts and organisations, to go in greater details about conditions of beneficiaries, categorise them into different groups based on their needs, give differential levels of financial support to each group, encourage selected groups of beneficiaries to be self-dependent over a stipulated period of time.
(6) Substantial increase in financial support to that category of beneficiaries which can become self- dependent within 5 to 7 years.
(7) To introduce system of interest free or low- interest loans to beneficiaries for starting small business with a view to encouraging accountability for support received and self-respect of beneficiaries.
(8) To introduce skill development programme which could enable gainful employment within 3 to 6 months. This would lead to deletion of some beneficiaries after a short span of time thus enabling us to focus attention on remaining beneficiaries & / or adding new needy families.
(9) To improve living environment of beneficiaries whether they are depending on us fully or partially by assessing their needs for kitchen, washrooms, ventilation, water connection etc.
(10) To undertake major reconstruction project for a welfare home for aged, widows, needy ladies and limited number of elderly men who have no one to look after them. For this purpose, our collaborating organisation Jai Shivshakti Health & Educational Foundation, Bangalore has agreed to help by undertaking total reconstruction cost in near future.
Entire philosophy of working in field of social work needs to be re-oriented to making it more humane, need-
oriented, result-oriented, accountability, significantly quality-centric, ensuring self-respect and encouraging
self-help among beneficiaries and more importantly considering sewa as an oppertunity given by the Lord for
serving humanity with dedication and humility.
